we're baaaaaack

So, we're back! Both from the blog-o-sphere abyss and Colorado. Last week, Danny and I left on a five night trip to Colorado to visit David and Mark (and Megan and Michelle!). We had a terrific trip...here's some of the evidence. (this is just part one, part two will come when other people (who shall remain nameless) send me photos)

It was a little bit more snowy in Winter Park this time...

Look at David's face...doesn't he look like a pouty six year old. His behavior matched his attitude. Until he had french toast.

Look at the headline we found on the sports page of USA Today while we were gone!

I told you David was feeling naughty...he tried to assault Megan with the perfect weapon (no evidence, no fingerprints). Thankfully, we saved the day!

The motley crew I spent Valentine's Day with....they're a rowdy bunch!

ahhhhhhh...blue skies and snow. Just beautiful!

Mark and Danny being silly on our hike (I'm taking some artistic license with the word "hike")

The "self" shot
Who is this Jolly Green Giant?

I always knew Danny had a big noggin, but this is the proof! (okay, we were playing with foreground/background because everyone knows Mark has a big noggin too!)

Here's the snacks that were left by our host in Winter Park (aka Mark)....sooo nice! We had to hide some of it from other guests :o)

Me.

Mark in his post-work glory (and long johns)

I promise more to come...including skiing, falling and maybe some shenanigans (please note, i make no promises on when it will come)

don't tell Mommy

On New Year's Day, I slept in and Danny took Griffin to McDonald's for breakfast (I got to sleep in, what can I say?). Here's how the conversation went (as reported by Danny).

G: I'm sooo hungry, Daddy.
D: What do you want for breakfast, Buddy?
G: I want eggs, sausage and hash browns.
D: Okay.
G: What are you going to get, Daddy?
D: I'm going to get an egg McMuffin.
G: Daddy, you can get a soda. I won't tell Mommy!!!

My child loves soda. He gets a little sip every now and then and now it has become the forbidden fruit. AND, who told him not to tell Mommy things?!?!?!

Happy Holidays

The song "Happy Holidays" was on the radio and I was singing (poorly, but Griffin doesn't care). The next thing I know, Griffin's singing..."Happy Halloween, Happy Halloween..."

I love it!

Breakfast With Santa

We've been talking about going to Breakfast with Santa for DAYS! Griffin was ready and, honestly, it was the first thing he said this morning when he woke up. "Go see Santa?!" (quickly followed by, "I'm hungry.")

So, could this kid be any more ready, any more cool...bring on the big man!

Emma and "Baby Paul" went first. Paul was indifferent, Emma had a list (she meant business!).

Sawyer, who obviously recognized the seriousness of the meeting, said he wanted a fire truck.

Lily and Paul gave each other kisses there was just so much love in the air!
and then, Griffin's turn. This is how he visited with Santa. And, Santa is about five feet away. Yep, all talk, no walk. That's my boy!!!

But he did look cute with Daddy...

and even cuter with Mommy!

T-minus 12 days...Happy December!

Naughty or nice?

Griffin and I were talking about Santa coming to visit yesterday. I asked him if he was naughty or nice. He said, "I'm nice. Grandpa Joe is naughty. He needs time out!"

Who's checking his list?!?!

Christmas Parade!

This is how the day ended...with a HUGE piece of apple pie at Griffin's favorite deli!

The big man! How are we going to bribe Griffin once December 26th rolls around?
Waving back to the big man (notice the appropriate solemnity due such an important person!)

The anti-Santa...the GRINCH! (looking a little saggy we noticed)

But Mighty Mouse was all bulked up!
and Mommy needs to bulk up to carry Griffin on her shoulders!

Daddy had no problems...(okay, maybe he needed a break every now and then, but don't tell him I told!)

T-minus 15 days until Christmas! HOORAY!
