The NC State Fair

A few weekends ago, we went to the NC State Fair with our friends, the Alcons. Griffin and Skye loved their first trip to the fair and rode A LOT of rides!

Our little cowboy! On the spot, I made up the name Lulu and he now has a stuffed horse...that he named "Lulu!"

Daddy, however, rode the carousel. Griffin only likes to ride real horses, he always chooses to sit down on this ride.

Griffin LOVED riding the Cobra and on his second ride, he and Danny rode in the last car. After the roller coaster stopped, he said, "I want to ride again, by MY SELF!" Easy there, buddy...mommy's not ready for that.

Colorado Part 2 (of 2, so this is it!)

On our super-rad journey, we also went to Winter Park to check out Mark's digs and the resort. We also hung out amongst giant breakfast food (at the mall on a cold day) and watched Unc Dave give Unc Mark a haircut (is Mark brave or crazy?)!

That just about sums up Colorado. Griffin and I cannot thank Dave, Megan and Michelle enough for being such wonderful, tolerant, gracious hosts!!! We love you guys! (and, Unc Mark, you're not too bad either :o), silly monkey wraps are a staple in our house now)

Colorado Part 1

(I just realized that the pictures below are totally backwards. So, if it matters to you (it would to me), start from the bottom.)

Get ready for a MEGA-blog!!! Griffin and I spent TEN (yep, 10!) days in beautiful Colorado. We had a wonderful, wonderful time. We cannot thank Uncle Dave, Megan and Michelle enough for letting us crash their house for SEVEN nights. You know what "they" say about fish and relatives...they stink after three days. Anyhow, on to the good stuff...

We took a drive from Breckenridge over the Dillon Dam to the small town of Dillon. Here we discovered the marina and the most amazing park I have ever seen (and, I've seen A LOT of parks). The view was truly awe-inspiring and breathtaking and the equipment was the coolest stuff EVER! I think kids from two to ninety-two would have a blast!

To truly appreciate the deliciousness of this cookie, you have to understand that it was baked at 10,000+ feet. To truly appreciate the cuteness of this little boy, you must simply look at him! :o)

We drove to  Breckenridge to meet some new friends. Here's the view from the back of our hotel.

Griffin was very anxious to go to Colorado. Whenever we asked him where he was going he would reply, "I'm going to Ca-rado. I'm SOOO lucky!"

Upon arrival to Denver, Uncles Dave and Mark wanted to initiate Griffin into the "i *heart* hotdogs" club. Little did they know, he was already a member!

Griffin felt the need to work off some of his hotdogs so he pushed Uncle Mark around (the park, that is)
